I'm a frustrated perfumer. This is what I did about it.
I approach home fragrance the same way the niche perfume world approaches scent — obsessively, with quality at the centre and feeling as the only measure that matters.
I've been obsessed with fragrance since I was a child. Not casually interested — obsessed. The kind of person who chooses a perfume the way others choose a signature: with patience, with instinct, and with an almost unreasonable refusal to settle.
The principles I apply to choosing a perfume are exacting. Does it have presence? Does it evolve? Does it make you feel something the moment it reaches you? Does it last? If the answer to any of those is no, I move on.
When I started looking for the same quality in a home fragrance oil, I couldn't find it. The UK market is full of oils that are thin, synthetic, or simply forgettable — products that smell acceptable in the bottle and disappear the moment they hit the air. For someone with my standards, that's not good enough.
So I built Scentro Home.
Scent is emotional. That's the point.
A great fragrance doesn't just smell good. It does something to you. It changes the feeling of a room the moment you walk into it. It can make you feel calm, or energised, or at ease, or quietly luxurious. It can transport you somewhere — a hotel lobby, a summer evening, a memory you didn't know you'd kept.
That emotional response is what I'm chasing with every oil I choose. Not "this smells nice." But "what is that?" The kind of scent that makes people stop, breathe, and feel something — even if they can't quite name it.
If an oil doesn't move me, it doesn't make the range. It's that simple.

Every oil in the Scentro Home range is evaluated exactly the way I'd evaluate a perfume. Presence. Depth. Evolution. Longevity. The way it makes a room feel when you walk into it.
We work with a professional Fragrance House to access an extensive catalogue of professional-grade fragrance oils — every one blended specifically for cold air atomisation, not repurposed from candles or reed diffusers. A formula built for heat performs completely differently at room temperature. Ours are engineered to perform cold.
From that catalogue, I choose very few. The ones that fill a room with genuine presence. The ones you notice when you walk in. The ones guests ask about.
